Snow Angels In The Road

For today's blog post I have lifted the photos and text from my wife's personal Facebook page. Posted this morning...

"Once in awhile here in CNY we get a snow storm on a Sunday and the plows don’t come through until later. Church was cancelled so we went out walking. I love walking down the center of an unplowed road. Hubby decided to let the child in him out and made a snow angel. I'm thankful today for the simple things, and things we take for granted—country living, unplowed roads, snow angels, but especially for good health, the ability to walk, and a warm home to come back to."

  1. . . . and I would add: "thankful for the companionship of a devoted, loving, honorable, and godly spouse!"
I love making snow angels, too!

  2. Elizabeth L. Johnson said, So nice to hear you two got the outdoors for yourselves before the plow. Here on Johnson mountain the forecast was for snow at 1,000 ft elevation. It was too warm, 45 degrees; so we have lots of rain, for which we're grateful, in dry California. In snow we use our own skidloader to clear snow. Sometimes we've walked the half mile of 18% grade from our vehicle parked on bottom to our house on top, in the snow, in the moonlight, because our loader was on a job site. What a delight! We didn't want to risk sliding in a vehicle off the road in snow. Don't you just love the quietnesss of snowfall?

  3. Hi Mr. Kimball,
I wanted to comment on one of your previous posts, but comments were locked. I hope commenting here is alright with you. I'd like to suggest "Tales from the Green Valley" or "Tudor Farm" for some interesting agricultural history. Both are available on Youtube.

Also I've enjoyed reading your other posts and share some of your concerns. I recently traded in my smartphone for a plain old flip phone. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I look forward to reading more of your thoughts

    1. Hello dlp,

I am shutting down the comments on my past posts after a few days because Blogger no longer notifies me by e-mail when I get a comment. So, if I don't shut off the comments on older posts I'll never know what might be posted, and can't remove anything that is inappropriate.
      Your comment here is appreciated.

Those are great BBC shows. I watched them years ago, and I think I blogged about them too. They are well worth rewatching.

I think more and more people are going from iPhones to flip phones. I'm not one of them.... yet. My iPhone is still a new tool for me. It's my first cell phone ever and I've grown fond of what it can do. But it might just be a phase I'm going through. :-)

      Thanks for the comment.

  4. Thanks for the comments.

I just realized that I can post a thumb's up icon in reply to a comment here. I may make a habit of that, as it allows me to simply acknowledge my appreciation of a comment.
